Meant for Classes IX and X, the new policy will raise the grades of students in one or two academic subjects if they do well in extra curricular areas.
Under CBSE’s new concept of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE), a child is assessed throughout the year in both academics and extra-curricular activities. A child can score a maximum of 42 grade points in the latter.

The improved scholastic grade will be indicated by a star on the report card. However, since this announcement came late, only a few schools have been able to implement this policy for Class IX this year. From the new academic session, the new promotion policy is mandatory for all schools to follow in Classes IX and X.
