Lighting Control:Magnetic Vs. Electronic Low-Voltage Transformers

Transformers that reduce, or step-down, higher voltage to voltages less than 30 volts (V) are called low-voltage transformers. They are commonly used to reduce the standard home 120 volt to 12 volts or 24 volts. A wide variety of everyday appliances use these transformers including low voltage external path lighting, under-counter lighting, door bells and thermostats. Both magnetic and electronic low-voltage transformers are in common use, and each has its advantages.

Function of the Magnetic Low-Voltage Transformer

  1. In a magnetic low-voltage transformer, two coils of wire, the primary and secondary coil, are used. The primary coil carries the input or high voltage and creates a magnetic flow, which induces a current in the secondary coil. Since there are more windings in the primary coil than in the secondary, the secondary coil has a lower voltage. The exact output voltage depends on the number of windings in the two coils.
  2. Function of the Electronic Low-Voltage Transformer

After iPad & Slate,Dell Launches Giant Smartphone STREAK !

Tablet war has begun! World's second-largest PC maker Dell’s tablet PC, called Streak, is all set to hit the retail stores. Streak is Dell's bold attempt to grab a share of tablet market which has been witnessing hyper activity from PC makers across the board ever since Apple launched its tablet device iPad.

With some analysts calling it mini tablet or giant smartphone, Dell Streak is half the size of iPad and can also make phone calls unlike Apple’s iPad. Here’s looking into Dell Streak -- Apple iPad’s first big competition.
Sporting a 5-inch (12.5-centimeter) WVGA screen, Dell Streak features a multi-touch display. However, Streak is smaller than Apple iPad which has a 9.7-inch (24.6-centimeter) diagonal LED-backlit glossy widescreen multi-touch display.

Dell first unveiled its Streak in January, touting the device as a convergence between a typical cell phone and larger tablet computer.
Streak is powered by Google Inc's Android operating system. According to Dell, Streak will launch with Android 1.6. The Tablet is expected to get the latest Android 2.2 update.

Ek Duje Ke Liye: M.S. DHONI Bats Saskhi

Rapid-fire batting and a passion for fast bikes. That's long been the Mahi way. And on Sunday, the Indian cricket captain's love for speed was once again on display. Within a day of Dhoni's engagement to Sakshi Singh Rawat, the couple got married at Vishranti Resort, located in the usually sleepy Lower Kandoli village, around 25km from Dehradun. In keeping with a romance that was kept tightly under wraps for almost two years, the wedding too was a fiercely private affair, with only family and close friends in attendance.

There were barely 50 guests, though some 10 dishes had been prepared. Given Dhoni's son-of-the-soil, feet firmly grounded image, the cuisine was predictably all-Indian, with nary an exotic dish in sight.

How Gadgets Are Changing Education In India !

Not too long back, a classroom meant assignments , blackboards and chalks, heavy duty lectures, etc. Today, things are a lot different. Classrooms, be it in a school or college, are slowly inching towards infusion of modernity in the education system and it will take a while to ease out rote learning as the most conventional method.

To be specific, it implies memorizing minus understanding or 'learning by repetition' . While it is strongly avoided by most curriculums in the developed world since it doesn't encourage use of intelligence, India too has finally come of age having learnt from its past mistakes. The transition from rote learning to tech-based education is clearly evident. Swanky laptops, CDs, and e-learning are now part of everyday education.

Change a Light,Change the World !

Thousands of people, many wearing only underwear, rioted across northern India yesterday over power cuts that have left millions without electricity or water, highlighting the yawning gap between the country’s superpower aspirations and realities on the ground.
The violence underlined growing public frustration at the Government’s failure to improve the basic infrastructure, especially electricity and water supplies, despite an unprecedented economic boom.
The Government has pledged to provide “power for all” by 2012, but analysts say that it will struggle to keep up with demand as the middle class sates its appetite for electronic goods and larger homes.
We really can "Change the World" with just one light bulb. The key is that the more people that take this step, the more we can change the world. Are YOU and your family having an energy crisis? You may be if you're wasting energy. How many of these ways to save energy around the house do YOU know? So,here is just basic knowledge about Light Source so that we can save our country from Energy Crisis.
Incandescent:
The bulb that most lamps require is the incandescent bulb, they are the standard bulbs that most people are familiar with and typically the most inexpensive option. The pros in using incandescent bulbs:-
They produce a warm and steady light that complements skin tones, they can be used with a dimmer, and they come in a wide variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Latest Trends In Indian IT Companies:John C McCarthy

John C McCarthy, vice-president and principal analyst at Forrester Research, has predicted and analysed some of the biggest shifts for the global technology industry, including his famous 2004 study, which claimed that 3.3 million white-collar American jobs (500,000 of them in IT) would shift offshore to countries such as India by 2010. Here, I Talk About the Changing dynamics of the Indian IT and the challenges it faces.
I think the Indian companies are going to come down to around 15% margins over 2-3 years. Their operations are getting much more complex. They are not just an Indian company anymore.
They are in India, China, Brazil, trying to sell in all these alternative geographies. Not that it's not going to be a great business — don't get me wrong. They would certainly be more profitable than some of the infrastructure players.

Attrition is not a long-term problem:

Delhi:Pray ! It Doesn't Rain During Commonwealth Games

If you love your nation and are looking forward to the largest sporting event Commonwealth Games that it is getting ready to host. I have one serious piece of advice for you – pray. Given the awful state of preparedness, be it venues, catering, athletes village, even the general infrastructure, you would imagine I want you to pray for all these. But no, I want your prayers directed towards something more specific – rains, or no rains, to be precise.

Those who live in Delhi and know what the hugely spoilt (in terms of funds spent) city turns into when it rains, would know what I am saying. A slight drizzle is enough to turn the city into Venice. But if that is bad, my fear is it will be a lot worse if it rains during the event. The fear is borne more out of what I have noticed the past few days.

Census 2010: A Vote Bank Clout !

Will you reveal your caste when the census-taker comes calling? Those who advocate the caste-census do so on the principle that it is better to know than not to know, and that knowledge helps us to empower ourselves and others. According to this argument, the more information we can gather on regional concentrations and percentages of caste, the better equipped we'll be to take focused affirmative action to counter discrimination and social and economic backwardness.

This seems to be a reasonable enough argument. The problem is that, ever since the adoption of the Mandal commission's recommendations by the V P Singh-led government in 1990, caste conflict has escalated, not declined.
